I would like to replace my stainless steel double sinks with a farm house sink. Is this doable?
I currently have granite counter tops with 2 separate sink cut outs for my stainless steel sinks. Can the granite be cut again to allow for this kind of sink?
Yes, a good handyman with the right tools could do the job but check that he has a good track record of this type of work.
Bear in mind the following points:
-that there is still a decent amount of material left between the farmhouse sinks(we English call them Belfast sinks) to ensure that the worktop is not weakened.
-the new sinks will be considerably heavier so you will need to ensure adequate support underneath; will you have sufficient room for this?
-as the other informant stated it will be an expensive modification.
