Should I put a coat/sweater on my dog in winter?
I have a 7 month old Westie and I’m wondering if I should buy a small coat/sweater for him to wear while I’m outside with him. I know that he has double layered fur but sometimes it gets below freezing here and I don’t want him to get cold.
Go for it. Small dogs get colder a lot faster, so even with a double coat, he would get chilled by the end of your walks (of course this depends on how long they usually are). If he has a sweater, he can last outside for longer, which gives you more time for exercise and play.
What sucks is having to cut a walk short because of a cold dog
