Crafting ideas for these items?
I’ve got a few old collars and tags from my dog who passed away. I don’t really want to part with them and would like to make something out of them. I’m thinking of using the tags as charms on a necklace or bracelet. But what can I do with these collars? They’re medium size, probably about 1 1/2 to 2 foot of the nylon material. Does anyone have any ideas of something I can make them into or use them for? I’d really like to make a nice memento of my best friend.
Please be kind. I know this may sound kind of morbid to some but this dog was my best friend and a huge part of my life. Thank you in advance!
I have the same situation, except with collars from several dogs. It recently occurred to me that I could use them as handles for a totebag or buckle them together to make a shoulder strap for a purse or tote, or even a belt. If they were used on a bag, you could put some pictures of the dog on it, too.
You have my deepest sympathy – it’s a terrible loss. I know the first time a dog of mine passed away, I couldn’t vacuum the house for a couple of weeks because then his fur would be gone, too. I wish you peace and comfort.
